A CSR is an essential part of certificate issuance. If you need to <\/span>activate<\/span><\/a> your certificate, please generate a CSR on IIS 5&6 using the detailed instructions described below:<\/span><\/p>\n

Generate keys and Certificate Signing Request:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

  1. Select <\/span>Administrative Tools<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Start <\/span>Internet Services Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/strong><\/p>\n

    3) Right click on <\/span>Default Website<\/strong>, then Select Properties for the website for which you are generating the CSR. <\/span><\/p>\n

    4) Right click on the Directory Security tab to open it.<\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    5) When you click <\/span>Server Certificate<\/strong>, the following Wizard should appear:<\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    6) Tick <\/span>Create a new certificate<\/strong> and click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    7) Select <\/span>Prepare the request<\/strong> and click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    8) Provide a name for the certificate. This name \u00a0is for your records only and should be easy to recognize and located in the system.<\/span><\/p>\n

    9) For <\/span>Bit length,<\/strong> choose either <\/span>2048 <\/strong>or<\/span> 4096<\/strong> and then Click <\/span>Next.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    10) Fill in <\/span>Organization<\/strong> and <\/span>Organization Unit <\/strong>using<\/span> your company name and company department. Click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Note<\/strong>: If you have a Domain Validation certificate, you may choose NA<\/em> for Organization and Organization Unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    11) The Common Name field should be the <\/span>Fully Qualified Domain Name<\/strong> (FQDN) or the web address for which you plan to use your IIS SSL Certificate. Details on how to choose a common name can be found <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    12) Once a common name is entered, click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    13) Enter your <\/span>Country<\/strong>, <\/span>State,<\/strong> and <\/span>City<\/strong>, then click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    14) Enter a name for the file and a location to save your CSR, then click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    15) On the next page, review the details you have entered. Click <\/span>Back<\/strong> to make any corrections, if necessary. Click <\/span>Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    16) Make sure that you include the CSR with the following tags:<\/span><\/p>\n

    —–BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST—–<\/em> to —–END CERTIFICATE REQUEST—–<\/em> and click<\/span> Next.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    17) Confirm your details in the enrollment form to complete the process.<\/span><\/p>\n
