Once a certificate is issued, you may install it via your WHM to establish a secure connection to any of the above mentioned services via secure ports 2083\/\/2096\/2087, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a reminder, \u00a0an SSL certificate should be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/okay-so-i-ordered-an-ssl-how-do-i-get-it-to-work-on-my-domain\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">activated<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in your account first using the CSR code generated on the server along with the Private Key. The CSR code is used for certificate activation and the Private Key should be saved on your server for further certificate installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may view the CSR generation instructions <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/category\/CSR-generation-instructions\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on our site<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Installation process for server services in WHM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you receive your SSL certificate, please proceed with the following steps to have it installed for server services via your WHM <\/span><strong>Manage Service SSL Certificates <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><strong>Manage Service SSL Certificates <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menu is not accessible if you have a shared hosting plan with your hosting provider. The option to install the certificate for securing server services is available only if you have a root access to your server.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the certificate installation:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Log into your <\/span><strong>WHM<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select <\/span><strong>Service Configuration <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&gt;&gt;<\/span><strong> Manage Service SSL Certificates<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find <\/span><strong>Install New Certificate<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tick the services for which you want to enable SSL (<\/span><strong>cPanel\/WHM\/Webmail Service<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, etc).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image00.jpg\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below you will see three fields that must \u00a0be filled out with the corresponding codes:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image02.jpg\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><strong>Certificate<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> field should be filled out with the issued certificate received from the Certificate Authority.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><strong>Private Key<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> field \u00a0requires the Private Key code that was generated along with the CSR code in your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-generate-a-csr-code-in-whm\"><span class=\"wysiwyg-color-black\"><strong>WHM<\/strong><\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-generate-a-csr-code-in-cpanel\"><strong>cPanel<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The third <\/span><strong>Certificate Authority bundle <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">field usually contains several certificates, combined in the necessary order, which should be installed as well to prove that your certificate is verified to a trusted root. You may download a .zip file containing your domain certificate along with a Certificate Authority bundle (.ca-bundle file) in your SSLs.com account. More detailed instructions on how to download it in your account can be checked <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/can-i-download-certificate-somewhere-on-your-site\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CA bundle can be also downloaded separately for the necessary certificate via this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/where-do-i-get-a-ca-bundle-file\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">link<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Though this box is marked as <em>optional<\/em>, we recommend that you fill it out, as many older browsers and mobile devices may otherwise consider your SSL certificate &#8220;untrusted&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once all three fields \u00a0are completed, click <\/span><strong>Install<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image03.jpg\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After installation, you will be asked to <\/span><strong><em>restart cpsrvd<\/em><\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(cPanel service daemon)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in order to apply the changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><strong>Proceed<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to complete the installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once this is complete, you will be able to log in to your cPanel, Webmail service, and WHM using secure ports (example:2083, example:2087, example:2096, eg.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An SSL certificate can be installed for any service on this page, however the services will work for the server name only.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We recommend that you clear your browser cache before trying to access your services using https:\/\/ connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Securing server services in Plesk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you would like to use the certificate to secure services in Plesk, it is necessary to replace the \u00a0Default certificate generated during Plesk installation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the certificate for a domain name is installed, it should be assigned to the necessary services. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This new SSL certificate can be found in the list* and to use it, you need to click on <\/span><strong><em>Secure control panel<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if you have Plesk 8.2 or later, otherwise click <\/span><strong><em>Install<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> if you have an older Plesk version. Instructions for different versions are listed below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*For Parallels Plesk Panel version 10.x:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><strong><em>Tools &amp; Utilities &gt;&gt; SSL Certificates<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For Parallels Plesk Panel version 9.x:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><strong><em>Settings &gt;&gt; SSL Certificates<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For Parallels Plesk Panel version 7.x, 8.x:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><strong><em>Server &gt;&gt; Certificates<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Redirect setup<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To access your cPanel\/WHM or Webmail securely, it is necessary to set up an automatic redirect to the proper SSL\/TLS ports so that visitors are able to access the following URLs:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.example.com\/cpanel<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.example.com\/webmail<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.example.com\/whm<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We recommend setting up the following redirect rules in your WHM: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Always redirect to SSL<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><strong>SSL redirection destination &#8211; Hostname<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These rules can be found in <\/span><strong>Home<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &gt;&gt; <\/span><strong>Server Configuration<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &gt;&gt; <\/span><strong>Tweak Settings<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &gt;&gt; <\/span><strong>Redirection<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in your WHM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/image01.jpg\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Always redirect to SSL<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is set to &#8220;Off&#8221; by default.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To enable this rule, select the &#8220;On&#8221; radio button.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><strong>SSL redirect destination &#8211; Hostname<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option redirects visitors to the server&#8217;s hostname. For example, if the server\u2019s hostname is host.domain.com, visitors typing <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/domain.com\/cpanel\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">http:\/\/domain.com\/cpanel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the browser will be redirected to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/host.domain.com:2083<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which uses a secure connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SSL Certificate Name<\/strong> is the default option here, simply click on <\/span><strong><em>Hostname<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to enable the redirect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As soon as the redirect rules mentioned above are applied, visitors will automatically be able to access the server services using a secure connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should you face any complications during the installation process, feel free to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/contact-us\/\">contact our SSL Support Team<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certificate activation and issuance Any of your domain certificates may be installed to enable a secure connection to server services like cPanel login, Webmail service, and WHM.
