The Friendly name is rather an identifier for you. It is recommended entering your domain name as a friendly name in order not to get confused:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ex_13_3.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are generating a CSR code for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/domain-type\/wildcard-ssl-certificates\">Wildcard certificate<\/a>, check the box and specify the base domain name. The common name for all Wildcard certificates has to be entered with an asterisk in front of the domain (*.example.com). If you are generating a CSR code for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/ssl-certificates\/comodo-multi-domain-ssl\">multi-domain certificate<\/a>, just leave the box unchecked and proceed to the next step.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ex_13_4.png\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on the <\/span><strong>Browse<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button and choose the <\/span><strong>server<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where your pending CSR request will be stored and after that, click <\/span><strong>Next<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ex_13_5.png\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the list, choose the services that you would like to secure with the certificate using Ctrl+Click.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;*Important* <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This step will be skipped if you are using a Wildcard certificate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ex_13_6.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the next step, there will be a list of domains and subdomains which can be included if you have a multi-domain certificate. You can also add any additional names by using the <\/span><strong>\u201c+\u201d<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>*Important* <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The server\u2019s name (in our case, it is \u201c<\/span><strong>mail<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d) will be added to this list as well. Other different names might also be present in the list. It usually depends on how you completed the previous step. Review all the names and remove the unwanted ones by using the <\/span><strong>\u201c-\u201d<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/ex_13_7.png\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the list contains all the needed names, click on the <\/span><strong>Next<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ex_13_8.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill in the <\/span><strong>organization<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> details:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organization name<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is your company name. If you do not have one, you may use \u201cNA\u201d in this field. This case is applicable when you have a domain-validated SSL certificate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Department name <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is the department within your organization. You can also use \u201cNA\u201d for this field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Country\/Region name: <\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">choose your country from the drop-down list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">City\/Locality<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has to be chosen from the drop-down list as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">State\/Province<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has to be the full name of your state\/province. If there is no state\/province, you may enter your city name. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>*Important* <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please make sure you use only alphanumeric characters. Special symbols or letters in the native language (! @ # $ % ^ ( ) ~ ? &gt; etc.) are not allowed when filling in the information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/ex_13_9.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the next step, you need to enter a path to the existing folder on your computer. The CSR code will be saved to this folder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>*Important* <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CSR code will be saved with .req extensions by default.
