You may either download the issued certificate in the email delivered by Comodo (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/comodo-ca-rebrands-as-sectigo\">now Sectigo<\/a>) or download it in your SSLs.com account following these <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/can-i-download-certificate-somewhere-on-your-site\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">instructions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to install the certificate, please follow the steps below.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Upload your Certificate<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press <strong>Win + R<\/strong> and type \u201c<strong><em>inetmgr<\/em><\/strong>\u201d in the appeared window to run the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the IIS Manager home page, locate the <strong>Server Certificates<\/strong> icon and double-click it:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis1.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate the <strong>Actions<\/strong> panel on the right side and click <strong>Complete Certificate Request<\/strong>:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis2.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <strong>Specify Certificate Authority Response<\/strong> window, perform the actions below.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a) In the <strong>File name containing the certification authority\u2019s response<\/strong> field, browse the file system to select your .p7b (or .cer) certificate.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>b) In the <strong>Friendly name<\/strong> field, specify any name that will help you to identify the certificate among other files. It is best to submit the actual domain name of the certificate.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>c) In the <strong>Select a certificate store for the new certificate<\/strong> field, leave the default value <strong>Personal<\/strong>.<\/span>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis3.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to import the certificate to the server storage.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the import is completed, in the <strong>Server Certificates<\/strong> window, you will see a new entry associated with the imported certificate:<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis4.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 id=\"bnd\">Bind the Certificate<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assign the certificate to your website by expanding the <strong>Sites<\/strong> subsection in the <strong>Connections<\/strong> menu on the left and select the corresponding site. Then, in the <strong>Actions<\/strong> panel on the right side, locate the <strong>Edit Site<\/strong> menu and select the <strong>Bindings<\/strong> option:<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis5.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the right side of the <strong>Site Bindings<\/strong> window, click <strong>Add<\/strong>:<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis6.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <strong>Add Site Binding<\/strong> window, modify the fields as below:<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a) In the <strong>Type<\/strong> field, select <em><strong>https<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">b) In the <strong>IP address<\/strong> field, select your website\u2019s IP address or <strong>All Unassigned<\/strong>.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">c) In the <strong>Port<\/strong> field, specify <em><strong>443<\/strong> <\/em>(default).<\/span>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d) In the <strong>SSL certificate<\/strong> field, select the previously imported certificate, which can be identified by the friendly name:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis7.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>The <strong>Require Server Name Indication<\/strong> box needs to be checked if there are multiple SSL certificates on the server.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <strong>OK<\/strong> in order for the new <em><strong>https<\/strong> <\/em>entry to appear in the <strong>Site Bindings<\/strong> window:<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/iis8.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s all &#8211; the certificate should now be installed and the website should be accessible via HTTPS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The SSL installation status can be checked online via the SSL checker at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decoder.link\/sslchecker\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/decoder.link\/sslchecker<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"2\">Certificate Request generated outside IIS<\/h2>\n<p>If the &#8220;Create CSR in-browser&#8221; option was chosen during the SSL activation, or the CSR code was generated elsewhere outside the IIS server, it is necessary to generate a PFX file containing the certificate, CA bundle, and private key, and use it for the import in IIS. <br \/>Check the details in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-install-an-ssl-on-a-windows-server-when-the-csr-was-generated-elsewhere\/\">step-by-step guide<\/a> regarding this process.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Take the stress out of SSL installation and let our tech experts take care of it!
