To prepare the correct files for the installation, make sure to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/can-i-download-certificate-somewhere-on-your-site\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">download<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a compressed .zip archive from your account or from the email sent by Comodo (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/comodo-ca-rebrands-as-sectigo\">now Sectigo<\/a>) and unzip it on your local computer. You will need the files called <\/span><strong><em>example_com.crt<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><strong><em>example_com.ca-bundle<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, meaning that <\/span><strong><em>example_com<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is your domain name here. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Firstly, you will need to upload the above mentioned files to Webmin. Click <\/span><strong>Others <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to expand the menu on the left and then <\/span><strong>Upload and Download<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Choose the <\/span><strong>Upload to server<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab in the main window, then select the files to upload, specify the path to store them and click <\/span><strong>Upload<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_1.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now let\u2019s get to configuring Apache using Webmin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>TIP:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you have not installed Apache so far, you can find and install it in the <\/span><strong>Unused modules<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> menu in the left-hand panel:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_2.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <strong>Apache Webserver<\/strong> entry in the <strong>Servers<\/strong> menu in the same left-hand panel and choose the <strong>Global configuration<\/strong> tab:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_3.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press the <\/span><strong>Configure Apache Modules<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_4.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the list of Apache modules, find the <\/span><strong>ssl<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entry, check the box on the left and press the <\/span><strong>Enable Selected Modules<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_5.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a few seconds you should be prompted to the <\/span><strong>Apache Webserver<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s main page. Choose the <\/span><strong>Create virtual host<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nSpecify port 443 (the default one) after putting the radio button near the blank field in the <strong>Port<\/strong> section, enter the path to the document root folder in <strong>Document Root<\/strong> and type in the domain name in the <strong>Server Name<\/strong> section. Then press the <strong>Create Now<\/strong> button to add a new virtual host:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_6.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the newly opened <\/span><strong>Existing virtual hosts<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab, click on the <\/span><strong>globe<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button next to the virtual host that we have just created:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_7.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After that, find and click on the <\/span><strong>SSL Options<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon in <\/span><strong>Virtual Server Options<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_8.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adjust the SSL options in the following way:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Enable SSL? <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">select <\/span><strong>Yes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SSL protocols <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> make sure to uncheck SSLv2 and SSLv3 as these protocols are considered to be unsecure<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Certificate\/private key file <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the path to the uploaded <\/span><strong><em>example_com.crt<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> file Private key file <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the path to the private key file that was initially generated with the CSR code; used for the certificate activation<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Certificate authorities file <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the path to the uploaded <\/span><strong><em>example_com.ca-bundle<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> file.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press the <\/span><strong>Save<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button to update the SSL settings:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_9.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to apply all of the changes we have made so far, we need to restart Apache. To open the needed page, press the <\/span><strong>Bootup and Shutdown<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entry under the <\/span><strong>System<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> menu in the left-hand panel, find the <\/span><strong>apache2<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> service and check the corresponding checkbox on the left: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_10.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After that, scroll down to the very bottom and press the <strong>Restart<\/strong> button:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_11.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s it! After the successful Apache restart you can check the SSL certificate installation with the help of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decoder.link\/sslchecker\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this tool<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you would like your visitors to access the website through https:\/\/ automatically instead of http:\/\/, you can enable the redirection in the following way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add a new virtual host in <\/span><strong>Apache Webserver <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&gt;&gt;<\/span><strong> Create virtual host<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, like we did it previously, but specifying port 80 (default for regular http:\/\/) this time:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_12.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><strong>Permanent URL redirects<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> section, add \u201c\/\u201d to the <\/span><strong>From <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">field, in order to apply the redirection to the whole website, and \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/example.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>https:\/\/example.com<\/em><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>\/<\/em>\u201d for <\/span><strong>To<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> field, replacing <em>example.com<\/em> with the domain name the SSL certificate is issued for. Then press the <\/span><strong>Save <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">button and restart Apache in the same way as it was described earlier in this guide:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/web.min_13.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The redirection should become effective now.
