It is required to improve compatibility of the certificates with web browsers and other kind of clients so that browsers recognize your certificate and no security warnings appear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the certificate has been imported to the server without the CA bundle, it will be shown as \u201c<em>signed by an unknown authority<\/em>\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/mac_os_8_1.png\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If you installed the CA bundle for the same type of the certificate previously (e.g., this time you install a renewal certificate), there is no need to go through the whole procedure of the CA bundle installation once again. Thus, you can proceed with the installation of the certificate itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First of all, you need to add the CA bundle (<\/span><strong>.ca-bundle<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) file you received to the keychain so the certificate can be trusted and signed by the Certificate Authority, Comodo CA (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/comodo-ca-rebrands-as-sectigo\">now Sectigo CA<\/a>) in this case. In order to do this, please find the CA bundle that was received along with your issued certificate. The file in question has the <\/span><strong>.ca-bundle extension<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/mac_os_8_2.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find <\/span><strong>Keychain Access<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on your Mac:<br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/mac_os_8_3.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open <\/span><strong>Keychain<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> then and drag the <\/span><strong>.ca-bundle<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> file into the window appeared:<br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/mac_os_8_4.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To check if the intermediate certificates were added, enter &#8220;Comodo&#8221; (or &#8220;Sectigo&#8221; if this was the part of the name of the certificates you imported) into the search bar:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/mac_os_8_5.png\" \/>Intermediate certificates have blue icons unlike root ones (root CA certificates have yellow icons).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s soon as the CA bundle is added to the Keychain of the system, feel free to proceed with the <strong>certificate installation<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find the <strong>.crt<\/strong> file you received from the Certificate Authority or downloaded from your account:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/mac_os_8_6.png\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><strong>Certificates <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">section under <\/span><strong>Server<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, find your <em>pending<\/em> certificate that was created along with the CSR code:<br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/mac_os_8_7.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Double-click the certificate in question so you can see the following window:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/mac_os_8_9.png\" \/><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drag and drop the &#8220;<em>yourdomain_tld.crt<\/em>&#8221; file into the box.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><strong>OK<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to complete the installation process:<br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/16.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once done, your valid certificate will appear in the list of the certificates installed on your server:<br \/>\n<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/17.png\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now we can assign the certificate to the services we would like to use it for:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select your certificate in the <\/span><strong>Secure services using<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/mac_os_8_12.png\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/19.png\" \/><br \/>\nIf you want to assign your certificate to custom services (like Mail services, file sharing, etc.), click the corresponding button:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/mac_os_8_14.png\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to apply the changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The certificate is installed on the server now.
