Exchange Admin Center (EAC)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Shell<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here, you will see how to generate the CSR in <strong>Shell<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open the <strong>Exchange Management<\/strong> <\/span><strong>Shell<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and run the following command:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>New-ExchangeCertificate -GenerateRequest -RequestFile \u201cpath_to_csr.txt\u201d -FriendlyName \u201cfriendly_name\u201d -SubjectName \u201cc=Country,s=State,l=Locality,o=Organization,ou=Organizational_Unit,cn=Common_Name\u201d -DomainName additional.domain.com -PrivateKeyExportable $true<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is a short description of the commands:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>RequestFile<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: place on the server where the CSR will be generated. In the example, it is saved to the disc C:\/\/, folder <strong><em>certs<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>FriendlyName<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: you can use this option to identify the correct CSR later.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>SubjectName<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: fields that are checked by the Certificate Authority.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Country<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: two-digit code of the country your domain is operating\/registered in. You can check the ISO 3166-2 code for your country\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ISO_3166-2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/countrycode.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>State<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: full name of the state\/province\/region inside the country. If there are no states or regions in your country, you can use the city name in this field.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Locality<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: full name of the city.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Organization<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: full registered name of your organization. You can enter NA here if you do not have a company, as Certificate Authorities do not verify the company for domain-validated (DV) certificates. Usually, it is enough to use the domain-validated certificate to secure Exchange services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Organizational Unit<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: name of the department inside the company. If there is no department in your company, you may enter NA.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-make-sure-domain-is-correct-in-the-csr\"><strong>Common Name<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: domain name you need to secure. This will become the primary domain of your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/domain-type\/multi-domain-ssl-certificates\">multi-domain certificate<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Domain Name<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: any additional domain(s) which will take one of the slots in your certifiacate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>PrivateKeyExportable $true<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: this part of the command means that you allow to export the private key from the server. It should be used if you are going to export the certificate later and install it on the other server.
