Now you can assign services to your SSL. For that, do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Server Configuration &gt;&gt; Exchange Certificate<\/strong> field again;<\/li>\n<li>Right-click on the imported SSL;<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Assign Services to Certificate<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"634\" height=\"392\" class=\"wp-image-5027\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_5.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_5.png 634w, https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_5-300x185.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_5-150x93.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The next step is to tick the services you would like to secure with the certificate. Usually, IIS (Outlook Web Access, Active Sync) POP3 and SMTP are selected by default;<\/li>\n<li>When you\u2019re done, click <strong>Assign<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"632\" height=\"554\" class=\"wp-image-5028\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_6.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_6.png 632w, https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_6-300x263.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/imprt_exch_6-150x131.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 632px) 100vw, 632px\" \/><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>After that, a pop-up window with a warning will appear asking for your confirmation to remove the services assigned to the default SSL and add them to the new certificate. Press <strong>Yes<\/strong> to proceed;<\/li>\n<li>Close the wizard by clicking <strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>And you\u2019re done. The services you assigned to the certificate should now appear in your Exchange Management Console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check if the SSL installation worked with this tool:<a href=\"https:\/\/decoder.link\/\"> https:\/\/decoder.link\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>***<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Please note<\/em><\/strong><em> that a <\/em><strong><em>Wildcard <\/em><\/strong><em>certificate can only be installed on Exchange 2010 if the CSR code was generated on this same server. Otherwise, the system will not allow the installation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The CSR code for a <\/em><strong><em>Wildcard<\/em><\/strong><em> can be generated by ticking the &#8220;Enable wildcard certificate&#8221; option. You can find the process described in more detail <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/exchange\/mailbox-migration\/add-an-ssl-certificate-to-exchange-2010\"><em>here<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"2013-2016\">Exchange 2013 \/ 2016<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-install-an-ssl-on-a-windows-server-when-the-csr-was-generated-elsewhere\/#create_pfx\">.pfx file is ready<\/a>, follow the steps below to install it on your server.<\/p>\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <strong>Exchange Admin Center (EAC) <\/strong>panel;<br \/><b><i>Note:<\/i><\/b><i> You can <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/exchange\/architecture\/client-access\/exchange-admin-center?view=exchserver-2019#accessing-the-eac\"><i>access<\/i><\/a><i> the EAC in a web browser on the <\/i><b><i>Exchange server itself<\/i><\/b><i> at<\/i> <i>https:\/\/localhost\/ecp<\/i><i>.<\/i><i> <\/i><i>If your Exchange 2016 is in a coexistence setup and the mailbox is on the Exchange 2010 server, use<\/i> <i>https:\/\/localhost\/ecp\/?ExchClientVer=15<\/i><i> to open EAC.<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Servers<\/strong> section and press <strong>Certificates<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>The specific server will be selected a bit later. For now, just click \u201c&#8230;\u201d (More) and select the Import <strong>Exchange Certificate<\/strong> option;<\/li>\n<li>In the installation wizard that appears, select your .pfx certificate file;<\/li>\n<li>Enter the password (that you created during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-install-an-ssl-on-a-windows-server-when-the-csr-was-generated-elsewhere\/#create_pfx\">conversion of the SSL files to .pfx<\/a>) to the <strong>Password<\/strong> field and click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To assign SSL to the specific server, do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Press \u201c<strong>+<\/strong>\u201d;<\/li>\n<li>Select the server where you want into install your certificate;<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p>The SSL import is complete. You can check the SSL file by opening the <strong>Servers<\/strong> section, where it will be listed in the <strong>Certificates<\/strong> tab with a blank space for a name.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you can assign the certificate its Exchange services by following these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select your certificate in the <strong>Certificates<\/strong> list and press <strong>Edit<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the left area, click on <strong>Services<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And on the right, mark the services you would like to secure with your SSL;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After that, you may receive a warning indicating that you are going to replace the existing certificate with another one. In most cases, this existing certificate is a self-signed one installed by default so you can ignore the message and click <strong>Yes<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If another trusted certificate was previously installed on your server, you can also proceed with the replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find more details on installing an SSL certificate on Exchange 13 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/how-to-install-an-ssl-certificate-on-exchange-13\/\">in this guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The certificate should now be installed.
