If the intermediate certificates are missing on the server, some browsers may show warnings about the certificate being untrusted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intermediate certificates can be imported to the Windows machine via Microsoft Management Console (MMC). Please take the following steps to import the intermediate certificates on your machine.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Add certificate snap-in.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Launch MMC. Click on the <\/span><strong>Start <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menu &gt;&gt; <\/span><strong>Run<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Type in <\/span><strong><em>mmc<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and press <\/span><strong>OK.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_01.png\"><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on <\/span><strong>File<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and choose the <\/span><strong>Add\/Remove Snap-in<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_02.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select <\/span><strong>Certificates<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the <\/span><strong><em>Available snap-ins<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> list and click the <\/span><strong>Add<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/install_root_int_mmc_03.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Choose <\/span><strong>Computer account<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to manage the certificate and click <\/span><strong>Next<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_04.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select <\/span><strong>Local Computer <\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and press the <\/span><strong>Finish<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button<\/span><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_05.png\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Certificates <\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">snap-in was selected. Click <\/span><strong>OK<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to add it to the console.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_06.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Import intermediate\/root certificates.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To import an intermediate certificate, right-click on <\/span><strong>Intermediate Certification Authority &gt;&gt; All Tasks &gt;&gt; Import<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_07.png\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To import a root certificate, right-click on <\/span><strong>Trusted Root Certification Authority &gt;&gt; All Tasks &gt;&gt; Import<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_08.png\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clicking on the <\/span><strong><em>Import<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button will run the Certificate import wizard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_09.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Browse the intermediate certificate file you want to import to your computer and click <\/span><strong>Next.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_10.png\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the certificate store you want to import the certificate into &#8211; <\/span><strong>Intermediate Certification Authorities<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for intermediate certificates and <\/span><strong>Trusted Root Certification Authorities<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for root certificates. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have several intermediate\/root certificates in a single file, you can choose the option \u2018<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019. Wizard will detect the type of the certificates and import them into the corresponding stores.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_11.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><strong>Finish<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button to complete the wizard. The certificate has been successfully imported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ssls.com\/knowledgebase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/install_root_int_mmc_12.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Note:<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Generally, the root certificates for SSL we provide should be already pre-installed on the Windows machine.
