Mobile security is more important than ever, considering the scale and sensitivity of tasks we use our phones for, from banking to shopping. However, unlike desktop computers, the diversity of devices and operating systems makes creating unified mobile security applications challenging. 

Two men have been arrested and charged with the breach of Snowflake, a cloud-based third-party server, back in May. This massive breach impacted around 165 corporations that utilized its services, such as AT&T and TicketMaster. Taking advantage of the fact that Snowflake did not require customers to add MFA to their accounts, the hackers stole huge amounts of corporate data just by using passwords stolen from employee computers with the aid of malware.

The Mozilla Foundation is making some big structural changes. The non-profit branch of the organization best known for the browser Firefox has laid off 30% of its staff and is completely eliminating its advocacy arm. The Mozilla Foundation exists to increase recognition of the Internet as a critical public resource and manage Mozilla’s corporate governance structure. 

There can be a lot at stake if your phone gets stolen. Nowadays, so much of our lives are run from these small yet powerful devices. No longer just a means of communicating with anyone at any time, you can also go shopping, take care of your banking, and even attend doctor’s appointments. So if this device, which is so central to daily tasks, is stolen, you’re not just losing access to an expensive tech product.
